Neural Network Controlled Solar PV Battery Powered Unified Power Quality Conditioner for Grid Connected Operation

The Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) is a technology that has successfully addressed power quality issues. In this paper, photovoltaic system with battery storage powered presented. Total harmonic distortion of the grid current during extreme voltage sag and swell conditions more than 5% when UPQC controlled synchronous reference frame theory (SRF) instantaneous reactive (PQ) control. shunt active filter by artificial neural network to overcome above problem. proposed controller helps simplify control complexity mitigate issues effectively. This study aims use maximise supply loads also used problem due non-linear in grid. performance model tested under various case scenarios, including load conditions, unbalanced conditions. simulations were performed MATLAB/Simulink software. results showed excellent approach compared PQ SRF percent total (%THD) was measured discussed for all cases. show %THD within acceptable limits IEEE-519 (less 5%) test scenarios controller.
